APR 4, 2022 — Mayor Eric Garcetti approved the Resolution on March 29, 2022, to make the City’s position official and to be known that these cartridges are harmful to the environment and that they cannot be recycled or remanufactured.
On March 23, 2022, The Los Angeles City Council unanimously passed a Resolution to support any legislation and/or administrative action that would ban the import and sale of aftermarket, single-use, new-built printer cartridges. With the Mayor’s signature, the City of Los Angeles is the first major city to take an official stance against this unnecessary waste and plastic pollution coming in from overseas.
