Konica Minolta has launched a new Print Support App (PSA) to ensure its bizhub multifunction printers retain advanced printing features as Microsoft transitions Windows to a driverless printing model. The free app, available through the Microsoft Store, works with Microsoft’s Windows Protected Print Mode (WPP) and Windows Ready Print by extending the built-in Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) class driver to restore enterprise functions such as secure printing, finishing options, tray selection, job accounting, and authentication. The move helps businesses migrate away from traditional printer drivers while maintaining compatibility, security, and productivity as Microsoft phases out third-party print drivers through Windows Update over the next year. Konica Minolta’s new Print Support App positions the company to support the future of Windows printing while simplifying printer deployment and management for enterprise IT administrators.
