Nokia Resolves Video Litigation
with HP Through Patent-Licensing Agreement.
Nokia has reached a multiyear patent-licensing agreement with HP, allowing the U.S. computer and printer manufacturer to incorporate Nokia’s video technologies into its products.
Last year, Nokia initiated legal proceedings against HP in the U.S., alleging unauthorized use of its patented video technologies. The newly announced agreement puts an end to all litigation between the two companies.
As part of the deal, HP will make royalty payments to Nokia, although specific financial details have not been disclosed.
HP did not respond immediately for comment.
Nokia is still pursuing litigation against Amazon.com regarding video-related technologies, with a court hearing scheduled in the U.K. for next year.
