OkiData Europe Suspend Production Due To COVID 19.
Printer manufacturer Oki has also been affected by the corona pandemic and has had to temporarily suspend production. Now the company has presented measures on how to deal with the situation.
As the corona virus evolved, a number of measures were taken to protect the safety and well-being of employees and their families, to continue doing business in the affected countries, and to ensure the availability of products, consumables, and support for Ensure partners and end customers, according to Düsseldorf.
To ensure that Oki can continue to serve its customers and partners while protecting employee wellbeing, follow local government guidelines and have activated their business continuity plan. In order to prevent contagion of employees, all business trips have been postponed, and the meetings are carried out using alternative methods. The staff was also largely equipped for remote work.
The effects of the first outbreak of the coronavirus led to a temporary interruption in an Oki production facility. Processes have been introduced to compensate for the lost production time, and the production facility claims to be 90 percent operational again. In order to minimize the impact on partners and customers, the manufacturer is currently also delivering consumable orders by air freight.
Customer support should also continue to be available via the Oki hotline or the contact pages of the local company websites. However, it should be noted that there may be a certain delay when processing inquiries. Due to official restrictions, there are also restrictions in some regions regarding repairs and orders on site.
