Pacific Office Automation Names Interim CEO.
Pacific Office Automation (POA), the Portland-based office equipment dealer, has appointed Michael McHenry, Vice President for Arizona, as interim Chief Executive Officer.
This decision follows the sudden leave of absence of former CEO Doug Pitassi amid allegations of sexual assault.
McHenry, a member of POA since 1997, assumes leadership during a challenging time as the company works to stabilize operations and reassure stakeholders.
His appointment comes in light of a civil lawsuit filed in federal court last month, accusing Pitassi of sexual assault during a September business event involving a sales representative. While no criminal charges have been made, the lawsuit alleges attempts by the company to cover up the incident.
McHenry’s promotion reflects a proactive effort to address the impact of these allegations on business operations while POA conducts an internal investigation.
The company’s board has not disclosed the expected duration of McHenry’s interim role or provided further details regarding Pitassi’s situation.
