Q&A With Mike Lang Of Lexmark Europe On Coronavirus: “We Are Watching the Situation Very Closely” The outbreak of the corona virus in China is also likely to affect supply chains in this country.
What are your assessments and expectations? Even if we currently have no delivery bottlenecks, we are taking a very close look at the situation. Given the current circumstances, we cannot make any future forecasts.
What is the current delivery situation in your company and how do you prepare for possible complications? Lexmark is closely monitoring the situation regarding the COVID-19 virus. We are also in constant contact with our customers and partners. Lexmark has no manufacturing facilities or suppliers in Wuhan or Hubei Province. However, due to the prolonged New Year holidays in China, there has been a week-long production delay in Lexmark’s manufacturing facilities in other regions of China. Production there has started again and work is currently underway to catch up as quickly as possible. Until then, our standard security stock of finished printers will apply. Unfortunately, it cannot be completely ruled out at the present time that there may be delays in the production of new printer series. However, there is currently no significant impairment of the supply chains.
With regard to the supply of consumables, we have taken precautions in our production facilities worldwide so that the supply chains function as usual.
