Ricoh Company, Ltd. has announced its intention to acquire the remaining 20% stake in PFU Limited from Fujitsu Limited, thereby making PFU a wholly owned subsidiary. This move follows Ricoh’s initial acquisition of an 80% stake in PFU in September 2022. The additional share purchase is valued at approximately ยฅ22.7 billion, or about $170 million USD.
PFU Limited specializes in the development and manufacturing of information management hardware and software, including document scanners and computer systems. By fully integrating PFU into its operations, Ricoh aims to enhance its capabilities in the digital services sector, leveraging PFU’s expertise to offer more comprehensive solutions to its customers.
This acquisition aligns with Ricoh’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio in digital services and information management, positioning the company to better meet the evolving needs of the market.
