Ricoh Start Production at New China Dongguan Plant.
Ricoh will start producing printing systems in its new Ricoh Manufacturing (China) Ltd. plant in July. at the Dongguan location in the Chinese province of Guangdong. With its new plant, the manufacturer is also investing in sustainability.
The new subsidiary is expected to act as a centralized manufacturing facility within Ricoh’s global supply chain ecosystem, enabling a range of productivity innovations in device maintenance and predictive management. Ricoh also aims to improve productivity through motion detection, analyzing trends in process data and eliminating errors. The resulting quality improvements in office systems should take advantage of these digital manufacturing technologies as well as the sales and manufacturing data collected through IoT and the use of robots and other automated systems.

Compared to the Ricoh Asia Industry (Shenzhen) Ltd. factories and Ricoh Components & Products (Shenzhen) Ltd., which will cease operations in May and December respectively, are expected to reduce CO2 consumption in production by at least 70 percent by the end of March 2021.
