Ricoh Company Ltd., the Japanese imaging, printer and office technology manufacturer, has secured another procedural victory in its patent infringement lawsuit against Zoom Communications Inc., after a Delaware federal court rejected Zoom’s attempt to transfer the case to California. According to Law360’s October 15, 2026 report, the court determined that the litigation should remain in Delaware. Ricoh alleges that Zoom infringed seven patents involving videoconferencing, interactive electronic whiteboards and collaboration technologies, putting workplace communications software at the center of a dispute with implications for the broader office technology and imaging industry. The ruling follows an earlier decision in May 2026, when the court denied Zoom’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, allowing Ricoh’s patent claims to proceed. However, neither ruling establishes that Zoom infringed the patents, and the underlying dispute remains unresolved. Read the official Delaware federal court opinion for additional details.
