The Core Business of Ink And Toner is No Longer Enough for Europe’s Imcopex.
To continue growing, the Hamburg-based distributor has also been concentrating on new and lucrative business areas for some time.
Last year, the distributor focused on IT hardware and consumer electronics with a team of ten experts and the opening of a sales office in Braunschweig. The range of goods on offer now includes more than 300 brands from the areas of PC / mobile, network, digital imaging and digital signature, printers, copiers, scanners, PC accessories and multimedia as well as home appliance products.
With the entry into the world of the networked home, the Hamburgers are now entering a completely new and rapidly growing market. Imcopex has now concluded a Europe-wide distribution agreement with the manufacturer for “Smart Lighting” Yeelight. “Entering the growth market of smart home with the intelligent lighting systems from Yeelight is a logical and consequent next step into the future for imcopex,” explains Jörg Hasselbach, Head of Business Unit Hardware at imcopex. “Yeelight’s innovative strength, product quality and channel focus fully meet the requirements of our company. The common focus is clearly in the reseller segment, as well as in the area of hardware stores “.
In March 2019, the Asian manufacturer opened its first branch in Europe with Yeelight Germany GmbH in Seeshaupt near Munich. However, the brand had established itself in the European market long before. The company is already one of the leading providers of smart lighting solutions in Asia and the USA. The lights and lamps from Yeelight are not only controllable via app and all popular smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit, but according to the manufacturer they are also particularly gentle on the eyes – thanks to the high color rendering and the very low proportion harmful blue light.
Yeelight has also been awarded numerous, internationally renowned design prizes such as the iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, iF Gold Award, Good Design Award and the IDEA Design Award. In addition, various tests have shown that Yeelight offers the best price-performance ratio with the highest light quality and functionality. “For this reason, we are proud to have Yeelight as a partner,” says Hasselbach, “and we look forward to a long and trusting cooperation”.
