More than $100K of Toner Cartridges Stolen From Tinley Park Warehouse
The thieves have apparently been stealing the toner cartridges for a whole year, police said.

More than $100,000 worth of toner cartridges disappeared from a Tinley Park warehouse.

The warehouse manager for Proven Business Systems conducted an inventory and “learned of a large quantity of toner cartridges … missing from their stock totaling over $100,000,” police said.

The manager “spent the last month checking the warehouse and their paperwork to see if there was an error in the amount of items missing or in their accounting of the items,” according to a police report. He “advised that on each inventory there are some items missing that can be accounted for but there has never been this many items missing in the past.”

The only explanation for so many missing toner cartridges the manager “could come up with was an internal theft as there has never been forced entry to the building and the theft has occurred over the span of a year’s time,” police said.
The toner cartridges are kept on shelves “in the open and anyone has access to them,” police said.

More than 100 warehouse employees can get at the toner cartridges, police said, as can an overnight cleaning crew.
