110,000 Ricoh Employees Will Act For The Environment This June 2015
Ricoh will, from Monday, 1 June, promote Ricoh Global Eco Action Month and conduct a special event for 110 000 employees to consider, and take action for, the environment.
This is the tenth anniversary of this Ricoh initiative, which falls in the month of the UN’s World Environment Day, to enhance eco-awareness and improve the quality of environmental management.
“Ricoh promotes sustainable environmental management around the world based on the national character and differences in awareness where we operate,” says Esti Kilian, national head of marketing services at Ricoh SA. “This year’s theme is Sharing The Eco Mind Together and the group will host an event for employees from Japan, Asia Pacific, the Americas and Europe, under which South Africa falls.”
Each organisation approaches the programme as they choose within the theme to reflect regional characteristics and also to encourage fun, ease of action and participation. The network of participants has grown over the past decade to include many relatives of employees, friends, and customers.
“We consistently encourage growing participation each year,” says Kilian, “because this is a global concern.”
