Asia-Pacific printer and MFP shipments down 4% in Q2 2005 — Printer and inkjet multifunction product shipments in Asia/Pacific fell 4% to 5.2 mln units in Q2 2005 because of market consolidation and cautious consumer spending. Aggressive pricing resulted in a drop of 7% to $923 mln in end-user spending.
Asia/Pacific printer and inkjet multifunction product shipments will reach nearly 26 million in 2009, reflecting 4 percent compound annual growth. The strongest growth will be in emerging economies. End-user spending will fall to $3.5 billion from $3.9 billion in 2004, declining 2 percent annually.
