Canon Australia has announced that managing director Taz Nakamasu will be promoted to an executive officer role within Canon Japan, and will be succeeded by Canon New Zealand managing director Yusuke Mizoguchi.

The executive changes, due to come into effect on April 1, 2015, will also see Yusuke Mizoguchi take on Nakamasu's responsibilities as chairman of Canon New Zealand and chairman of CiSRA, along with a number of his board positions.

"It is with great honour that I take on the leadership of managing director, Canon Australia and Oceania. Everyone who works in the Canon Oceania region has tremendous respect for what Taz Nakamasu and his team have achieved during his tenure. I take on a business that is truly in great shape," Mizoguchi said in light of his new position.

Following Mizoguchi's appointment, Kim Conner has been appointed as Canon New Zealand managing director. Conner has been with the company for seven years, and, according to the company, the promotion is in recognition of her achievements with the Canon Consumer division in New Zealand.

"Having spent seven years helping to grow the Canon New Zealand business and seeing the various changes take place, it is fantastic to be given the opportunity to lead a company that is not only well recognised on the global stage, but has a significant place in the New Zealand business community," Conner said.

There will be a period of transition during March, the company said.
