What is it?
Cash
for Critters is a fundraising program – – one of the easiest and
fastest ways to raise funds available today! With this program, your
organization collects empty ink jet, laser printer cartridges and
digital cell phones. We pay you cash for the cartridges you collect —
up to $4 for ink jets ($2 for most), $1-12 for lasers based on styles
and $2.50 for each digital cell phone.
Who can participate?
Any
organization, either for profit or nonprofit, needing to raise funds.
That includes all animal rescue groups, animal rights groups, animal
protection agencies, animal shelters, and animal welfare groups or any
kind of nonprofit organization wanting to raise money.
How does it work?
It’s so easy… that’s one of the best features of this program!
For
your ink jet empties : We supply you with a postage paid collection
box. When your box is full, you just pop it in the mail along with a
completed form giving us your name, address, etc. Within 14 business
days of receipt of your box, we’ll send you a check for the cartridges
you’ve collected. It’s really that easy.
laser cartridges to help control our shipping costs.
For
your laser empties : Place your laser cartridges in any corrugated box.
We pay all shipping costs for your laser empties. All you need to do to
produce your shipping label is to go to our website,
http://www.ckarecycleaid.com/label.htm and click on the UPS logo. The payment
process is the same for lasers and ink jets. Once we’ve received your
empties – we send you a check. For your Digital Cell Phones: Simply put
them in a plastic bag to protect them from toner dust and ink and put
them in the box of laser cartridges you’re shipping. Please DO NOT put
cell phones in the small ink jet box. Cell phones that are mailed in
our small ink jet box or mailer bags will receive $1.50 each.
Important
note: To keep costs down, please be sure to take the cartridges out of
the original box and remove any extra packaging materials. Find a box
that will hold at least 5 cartridges before you request the label. Box
must weigh a minimum of 10 pounds!
Your organization can also
request pre-paid mail envelopes to hand out to members and volunteers.
The envelopes will come with a small display box and all your
organization needs to do is add your return address so we know where to
send the check! The mailer envelopes will hold one or two cartridges
and are perfect to hand out to people during adoption days or other
promotions that you might do. We’ve had some groups even mail them out
to all of their members so when they have an empty cartridge at home
they’ll just pop it in the mail.
Do you have any larger size collection boxes available?
We
sure do! In fact, we’ve designed a large size collection box which is
also a display fixture complete with color graphics promoting the
program. These collection/display boxes would be appropriate for any
organizations which have one or more physical plant locations, such as
shelters. These boxes would also be appropriate to take to trade shows,
pet adoption days, etc. We are hoping to partner with some of the
national pet stores to encourage them to keep a collection box in each
of their retail locations, too. Requests for the large size
collection/display boxes may be made by e-mail to
info@ckarecycleaid.com after a 90 day initial commitment to the program.
What cartridges are included?
For
ink jet cartridges: There are over 150 different styles of ink jet
cartridges being used today. Since we accept most of these styles, we
find it easier to give you a list of the cartridges we do not accept.
In fact, we’ve designed a two-page flyer to help you identify the
cartridges we do not accept. A general rule for ink jet cartridges is
that we only accept the styles, which can be recycled. That means that
the cartridge will have some type of electronic circuitry (copper
strips or visible electronic circuits) somewhere on the cartridge.
“Throwaway”
styles are those, which do not have any circuitry and are not
recyclable. We DO NOT accept any cartridges made by or for EPSON ink
jet printers because all Epson ink jet cartridges are “throwaway
styles.” We also do not accept certain obsolete cartridges, which
cannot be sold due to their very small number of end users. If you find
you have questions about a particular style, you can also consult our
Cartridges We Don’t Accept flyer to see the photos of the styles we do
not accept. We will also identify each cartridge we are unable to
accept from every order you send to help you sort through your
cartridges before shipping future orders. An updated list of the
cartridges we accept can be downloaded from our website.
For laser
cartridges: We will provide you with a list by cartridge model # of all
the laser cartridges we accept, along with the price we pay for each of
these styles. This information is also available on our website.
Where can I find these cartridges?
There
are more than 100 million printers installed in homes and businesses
today – – 70% of them are ink jets and most of the rest are lasers. So
you’ll find you won’t have to look far to find empties. Encourage your
members to check at their homes, businesses, and with their friends,
relatives, and neighbors to collect empty cartridges.
Why should you participate in this program?
We’ve
made this one of the easiest and most cost effective fundraisers
available today. We pay all the program costs, so it requires no
investment by your organization.
