The majors like Autoprint, APL, Esko, Monotech, Insight, Itech, Kapoor Imaging, Line-o-Matic, Suba, Sheth Printograph, SLKCG, Vallava Graphic Machinery plus the digital companies like Canon, HP, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, and Xerox maintained their product doctrine of "upgrades and launches.

To begin with, Autoprint's Repetto 65 V2 was booked by Indore's R T Graphics, Sujilee Colour Printers booked a Horizon BQ270 and Grafica Flextronica signed orders for its Nano Print with SRM Printers and Raja Offset Printers.

The exhibitors at the show were bullish at about the print market in South India. during a conversation with PrintWeek India, K J Paul of Reprographics and H V Sheth of Sheth Printograph gave a lowdown on the many solutions they had on offer for the visitors. Paul said, "The Reprographics stall is identical to a supermarket; with all types of solutions."

The key announcements at the show included Xerox's 1000i colour engine launch. The equipment offers, what the company claims, a pantone metallic gold or silver specialty dry inks. "The 1000i is designed to give the printers a creative, competitive advantage, said Rajagopalan Balaji, executive director – technology and channels, Xerox India.

Another announcement made at the show was Monotech's partnership with Shinohara and the launch of two wide-format machines.

The show, in its entirety, generated optimism for both the exhibitors and the visitors alike. In the coming few months, we expect many more announcements and business to be generated as an aftermath of the show.
