2006
– China’s printer market in the first quarter this year went down 8.3%
quarter-on-quarter to RMB 3 billion, Beijing IT research firm Analysys
International said in a report.According to the report, Hewlett-Packard
leads the laser printer market in China with a market share of 29.8%.
The stylus and inkjet printer market is led by Epson, which had 21.9%
of the total market. Canon and Lenovo were respectively third and the
fourth in terms of market share.Analysys also stated that the price of
mainstream laser printers fell slightly in the first quarter as more
industrial users chose laser printer products when purchasing new
printers. With the sharp decline in prices of inkjet printer
consumables, comprehensive inkjet printing costs fell considerably. As
a result, the number of low-end and midrange users who bought inkjet
printers increased, the report added.
