Chinese toughen export licence regulations

2008 – Hong Kong, PRC Chinese authorities have increased the number of
product categories that require export licences.Seven new product
categories, including stationery, have been added to the list,
following the much-publicised product recalls last year, according to
Mr.Li Qing-xiang, the deputy director general of the Guangdong
Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, who was speaking at a
seminar at the Hong Kong Stationery Show.He also specified that the
licences now have to be renewed every three years, as opposed to every
five years previously.
