CHURCHES IN CANADA NOW COLLECT EMPTY CARTRIDGES
Churches collect used ink cartridges for recycling
Many
churches across Canada are now asking their parishioners to drop off
used ink cartridges at special boxes on their premises, in a program
that helps fund the Green Church Program as well as participating
churches. The program is offered jointly by a Canadian ink cartridge
company, KO-REC-TYPE, and the Green Church Program.Cartridges left at
participating churches will be picked up by KO-REC-TYPE and recycled,
and the company will offer a fee for each cartridge. Half of that fee
will go to the Green Church Program, and the other half to the
participating church’s coffers. The Green Church Program, offered by the
Canadian Centre for Ecumenism, is a program which aims to encourage
church communities to adopt environmentally sound practices.
