    Image Microsystems Acquires New Facility

Company that Crushes Empty Cartridges Acquires New Facility
Image Microsystems — a leading provider of technology restoration, reverse logistics, e-waste recycling, and MicroStrate® recycled products manufacturing — today announced they have acquired a new facility in Kyle, Texas. The new 100,000 square foot plant will augment their asset recovery, recycling, and MicroStrate® sign substrate manufacturing capabilities. The announcement is being made in conjunction with the company’s sponsorship and speaking engagement at the GreenGov 2011 Symposium being held this week in Washington, DC. The conference is a joint effort of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and the Association of Climate Change Officers.

"We are excited about the opportunity to increase our e-waste recycling and MicroStrate® signage manufacturing capabilities," stated Alex Abadi, PhD, CEO of Image Microsystems. "We’re honored to be sponsoring and speaking at the GreenGov, 2011 Symposium, and chose this event to announce our expansion," added Abadi. "Our new Kyle plant is just the first of 5 planned e-waste recycling and MicroStrate® sign substrate manufacturing facilities we have planned. Due to the overwhelming demand for our MicroStrate® signage as well as the growth of our asset recovery business, we’re launching a dramatic expansion program which will eventually include investment of over $30 million and facilities in California, Florida, Michigan, and Pennsylvania in addition to the Kyle plant. Once our extensive remodeling process has been completed in Kyle, we’ll be able to process over a quarter million pounds of e-waste plastic daily," concluded Abadi.

"It is a great opportunity for the City of Kyle to be considered as a future home of Image Microsystems," stated City of Kyle Mayor, Lucy Johnson. "We are all looking forward to working through the process to bring the company into the economic base of our city and to incorporate their innovation and creativity into the wealth of talent already making the City of Kyle home," added Johnson.

Patent-pending MicroStrate® sign substrate, made completely of recycled e-waste plastic, is the result of extensive investment in research and development. Image Microsystems combines "dirty" plastic found in spent printer cartridges, or other electronics and converts it into cost effective, earth-friendly MicroStrate® signage. Because of MicroStrate, Image Microsystems’ asset recovery customers can purchase MicroStrate® signage made from their own recycled e-waste and save money on a product as tough — but not as theft-prone as aluminum — while contributing to carbon footprint and e-waste reduction.
