HP Turns To Corner Stores To Revive Inkjet Sales
Palo Alto, CA march 08 – Hewlett-Packard is using the 20th anniversary of the Deskjet inkjet printer to refocus from a printer company to a printing company. The switch comes as six-in-10 consumers now use drug-store photo printing services instead of inkjet printer.

HP, which controls 46 percent of printer sales, wants to increase its standing in the printing market, now at just 1.8 percent of all printed material. To grab more market share, the printer giant is turning to Target and Costco Wholesale to switch from their current photo processing methods to high-speed, high-capacity inkjets.Inkjet printers, when first introduced in 1988, cost $1,000. Today, a wide variety of inkjet printers are available for under $100. Printers and printing supplies brought in $7.2 billion for HP in 2007.
