    Epson And HP Compete In 'Tech Tank' Pitch-Off

    At the Channel Company’s recent NexGen Cloud Conference, 15 companies competed in the “Tech Tank,” a pitch contest inspired by the popular TV show “Shark Tank.” The companies invited to participate were all 2014 Tech Innovator Award winners.

    Among the companies was Epson, whose Sean Gunduz showed off an interactive display for sharing and collaboration called the BrightLink Pro. Gunduz demonstrated how any surface can become a fully functioning technological whiteboard, without any software or apps — just a Web browser is needed. At the end of a presentation, participants can view, share and collaborate instantly with the whiteboard content.

    Hewlett-Packard entered two of its Tech Innovator Award-winning products into the Tank, the HP X585 MFP and ElitePad 1000. HP’s Steve Lamb demoed the efficient X585 inkjet printer, while Jerry Yen walked judges through the beauty and toughness of the ElitePad 1000 tablet.
