Epson Enters New Category with Colour Multifunction Laser Printer
    Toronto,August,2005:
Epson Canada Ltd. is entering a new product category with the
introduction of a sub-$1,000 colour multifunction laser printer, the
AcuLaser CX11NF, which prints, copies, and scans documents.
Designed primarily for small offices or workgroups, it is the step-up
model from the AcuLaser CX11N, adding a 50-page automatic document
feeder and 33.6 Kbps Super G3 faxing with colour support.

It prints up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) of sharp-text monochrome
documents, and up to five ppm of photographic colour output.  It
can also copy a monochrome document in 12 seconds, and a colour
    document in 29 seconds.

“We are very excited about expanding Epson’s product reach into the
colour laser market, and believe our leadership and expertise in colour
digital imaging will translate perfectly into high-quality,
high-productivity products that today’s business customers will
appreciate,” commented Tony Rossi, Director, Sales and Marketing, Epson
Canada Ltd. “We’re charging straight out of the gate with an
aggressively priced colour laser MFP that offers extremely fast
performance, excellent ease-of-use and exceptional image quality for
    which Epson is known.”

The AcuLaser CX11NF takes advantage of three distinct core
technologies: Epson AcuBrite Toner, an encapsulated pigment formula
that incorporates a special resin and wax to produce prints with a wide
colour gamut, accurate tones, high density, and an attractive level of
glossiness on plain or recycled papers; wrap transfer technology, a new
engine design using a system of belts and rollers that contribute to
the accurate placement of toner across all areas of the page; and ASIC
technology, which Epson says helps to increase printing, copying and
    scanning speeds.

The unit comes standard with a built-in 10/100 Base-TX interface, USB
2.0/1.0, and is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating
systems.  In addition to LAN-based printing, a “push scanning”
feature enables users to scan documents on the MFP and, from the unit’s
control panel, to specify recipients who will directly receive scanned
images on their PCs over the network.  The product also comes
standard with 128MB of RAM that contributes to faster copying and
    scanning speeds.

The Epson AcuLaser CX11NF will begin shipping in September for $999,
and comes with a package of business software tools, and one-year
    limited on-site warranty.
