Taiwan market: Epson tops 3Q shipments for inkjet MFPs

Epson shipped 36,145 inkjet MFPs (multi-function peripherals) in the Taiwan market last quarter, edging out Hewlett-Packard (HP) for the largest market share, according to market surveys by IDC Taiwan.|
Epson’s lead was due to large price cuts it offered for its entry-level models at the end of July, IDC Taiwan pointed out. The rest of the local inkjet MFP market went to Lexmark and Canon.
There were a total of 92,680 inkjet MFPs shipped by the four brands last quarter, decreasing by 16.1% from the second quarter of this year and increasing by 8.5% on-year.
