Flint Group Exits Inkjet Market

YORK Printer technology company Electronics for Imaging Inc., Foster
City, Calif., announced Wednesday that it intends to buy digital
printer and ink company Jetrion from the Flint Group. Valued at $40
million, the deal is expected to close at the end of the
year.Established in 2003 and based in Ypsilanti, Mich., where it
employs approximately 50 people, Jetrion makes ink for digital printers
and develops on-demand and variable-data printing technology.The Flint
Group, an ink maker headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich., was created last
year when Flint Ink Corp. was merged with Germany’s XSYS Print
Solutions.
