HP® and Lexmark® Representatives Speak at Static Control’s Kick-Off Seminar in Poland

Next Seminar in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 14

Sanford, N.C. – (May 13, 2014) – Static Control hosted a customer seminar in Lodz, Poland on April 25, the first in a series of 22 information-intensive sessions to be held in multiple countries. Lexmark’s Worldwide Brand Protection Manager Andrew Gardner and HP attorney Tomasz Koryzma spoke to a packed room of local remanufacturers regarding IP concerns.

Gardner spoke first and discussed Lexmark’s strong stance against clone cartridges and the legal actions the company has taken against clone sellers, including the raids that occurred earlier this year at Remanexpo@Paperworld in Germany. Koryzma discussed HP’s efforts to protect their IP in the Polish marketplace and the legal risk of selling infringing products.

“It was a great experience to have representatives from both Lexmark and HP here at the event presenting alongside our team to help educate remanufacturers of the importance of intellectual property,” said Sales Director Ken Lalley. “Static Control has taken a strong stance against new build clones and we are happy to see OEMs such as Lexmark and HP join the fight to rid the industry of clone cartridges.”

Seminars are provided free of charge to current Static Control customers. The next seminar will be in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 14 at the Grand Hotel Sofia. Guest speakers from both trade associations and OEMs are planned for upcoming seminars, including those planned in Bucharest, Romania and Bratislava, Slovakia.

“We are very pleased with the success of this kick-off seminar and look forward to the additional seminars we will hold throughout Europe and Central and Western Asia,” said Lalley.
