HP Flies in George Brasher as NEW Uk PC and Printer Boss
    By Sam Trendall

Hewlett-Packard Co. has confirmed 24-year company veteran George Brasher as the new U.K. and Ireland boss of its printers and personal systems (PPS) division.
George Brasher is general manager of HP's UK and Ireland PPS division

The U.S. native will replace Paul Hunter, who is travelling across the Atlantic in the opposite direction to become CEO Meg Whitman’s chief of staff. Brasher (pictured) currently holds a San Diego-based post as general manager of the vendor’s worldwide laser printer business.

He arrives in the U.K. after 24 years with HP, having held a variety of posts in both the U.S. and mainland Europe. Brasher will report to EMEA PPS leader Herbert Köck, who e-mailed HP staff this morning to welcome the new arrival, and salute the contribution of his predecessor.

“We would like to congratulate [Paul] and thank him sincerely for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions to PPS EMEA and UK and Ireland over the past years,” reads the e-mail. “This announcement underlines our continued commitment to career development and support to promote internal talent.”

Hunter departs his native country after the best part of a decade in senior roles in HP’s UK PC business. He took on his current brief in 2012, when HP united its PC and printing divisions.
