HP Moves 50 Jobs from Slovakia to Romania for Lower Salaries
Hewlett-Packard (HP) will move 50 work places from Slovakia to Romania, looking for more reduced costs with salaries according to the Slovakian press, according to Mediafax. The employees affected by this measure work in a call centre and support for clients, according to the Slovakian publication Hospodarske Noviny.The company mentioned that they wanted to concentrate in Slovakia on business of higher financial value.
HP is one of the biggest players on the IT market in Romania, with annual business of over 300 million lei and more than 3,600 employees.Last year the turnover of Hewlett Packard Romania SRL increased by 16% from 294.5 million lei to 343.6 million lei and the profit dropped by 30% from 37.7 million lei to 26.4 million lei. HP Romania wants to get to 3,800 employees by the end of this year.
