The Global Content Delivery Service (GCDS) is what DISA uses to manage the daily requests for data, services, transactions and applications on the Defense Information Systems Network. DCGS supports the unclassified NIPRNet, the classified SIPRNet and CX-I, the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System-ISAF, the U.S. component of the Afghan Mission Network.

In addition to providing current requests, HP will work on upgrading the systems to accommodate future demands. Work on the contract is expected to be completed by June 2018 or, if all options are exercised, June 2021.

HP beat out two other bidders for the contract.
