Carson, Calif. —   ITD Print Solutions is committed to donating 3% of profits to non-profit organizations that focus on the needs of homeless women & children.

ITD will make a contribution from each cartridge sold to aid the homeless.
As a direct result of today’s challenging economic times, the demand for training and jobs is greater than ever. Homelessness ends where transformation begins and ITD Print Solutions is committed to giving those in need, a new chance in life! ITD Print Solutions is a manufacturer direct wholesaler of Rhinotek brand compatible toner and ink and has a 30 year history of community outreach and support.

Lisa Sanchez has worked at ITD for 2 ½ years and is one of the company’s rising stars.  Lisa shared: “The opportunity to work at ITD came to me while living with my children in a women & children’s shelter and has changed my life!  I was living in a shelter due to devastation and challenges in my life and was scared.  Working at ITD got me out of the shelter and gave me the opportunity to provide stability and security to my children.”  Lisa’s oldest daughter is now a college-bound senior and the recipient of numerous scholarships and intern opportunities.

ITD’s Vice President of Sales & Operations, Shari Feinberg, said:  “We are committed to providing training and jobs to help make a difference and provide lasting changes in the lives of homeless women and their children. We all can make a difference by reaching out to the hidden homeless and lift them out of despair and fear of life on the streets and into the security and hope of stable housing and productive lives.”

With nearly 78,000 homeless people on any given night, Los Angeles is recognized as the “Homeless Capital of the Country”; nearly half are women and children. Women and children are often referred to as the “hidden homeless.”  Homeless mothers and children are now the fastestgrowing segment of the homeless population. The number of homeless children who are in the U.S. is greater today than at any point since the Great Depression.

    Homeless Statistics

Accurate statistics regarding the number of homeless children are difficult to obtain. The homeless population is constantly in flux. The statistics are the most recent and admittedly underestimated. Most counts do not specifically identify children; do not include families staying in motels or children living in group foster homes.

    United States

? One in every 50 American children goes to sleep without a home of their own each year. (1)

? Approximately 1.6 million children are homeless annually in the United States. (2)

? the recession has led to a 50% increase in students identified as homeless in schools districts throughout the country. (3)

? there are almost 800,000 children and youth served in foster care each year in the United States. (4)

    California

? California ranks 49 out of 50 in number of homeless children. (5)

? 292,624 California children experience homelessness each year.(5)

? Families with young children account for 40% of the homeless population. (6)

    Los Angeles County

? 141,737 residents of LA County are homeless at some point over the course of the year. (7)

? 83% of homeless people in LA County are unsheltered– living on the streets, in cars, or encampments– rather than in emergency or transitional housing. (7)

? Over 35,000 homeless youth are enrolled in LA County Schools, 12,461 in LAUSD alone. (8)
