Kodak plans to sell 500,000 inkjet printers this calendar year

2007) — Eastman Kodak Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Antonio
Perez said today the company wants to sell 500,000 of its new inkjet
printers in 2007.Perez made the comments during a visit by U.S. Sen.
Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., to a plant in Greece that produces ink and
internal parts for the printer.If Kodak hits that target, that would
mean at least $75 million in new sales for the company.The company has
launched the printers, which it says produces top quality at half the
cost of traditional ink cartridges as a way to inject new life into
sales.During his tour, Schumer called the inkjet printers line, “one of
Kodak’s and the area’s great hopes.”
