    Korea: RFID Chip innovation to lower price by 95%
    Korean researchers developed a plastic chip that is expected to cut the price of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) by 1/100 to five won.
    A research team at Suncheon Univ. of Korea announced Thursday that it succeeded in developing low price RFID tag chip using only organic material and inkjet printer for the first time in the world.
    The new RFID chip represents a technology that make the RF oscillation of 30 ㎑ with only organic material and inkjet printing. As it can be mass-produced, the price of RFID chip is likely to be one to five won, which currently is at 0.5-1 dollar in the global market. The chip is printable on all kinds of boards including those made of paper, plastic and wood.
