    Kyocera Mita Starts Construction of Vietman Printer Factory

    HAI PHONG — First stage development of a multifunction photocopier and printer factory belonging to the Japanese Kyocera Mita Corporation began on Thursday at a cost of US$187.5 million.

    Covering a total floor area of 66,000sq.m at the Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Hai Phong Port City, the new facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2012 with production slated to begin in October of the same year. By 2016, Kyocera Mita plans to increase the number of its employees to roughly 7,000 based on an expected production value of $1 billion per year.
