Lexmark to spend millions on R&D
Lexington,
Ky.-based printer and ink cartridge maker Lexmark International Inc.
plans to pour $19 million into research and development equipment and
new laboratory facilities.The company plans to spend about $12 million
of that figure on R&D equipment alone, according to information
submitted to the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority board
on Thursday.Lexmark employs about 3,130 people in Lexington.The KEDFA
board approved the project for $500,000 in tax incentives under the
Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act.
