Sciences Launches Clearcase(R) Color Toner Cartridges for Use in
Xerox(R) Phaser(R) 6250, Konica Minolta(TM) magicolor(TM) 3300, Epson
AcuLaser(R) C4100, and Brother(R) HL-4200CN Office Color Printers
Release Marks Aftermarket Industry’s First Newly Manufactured, ‘Chipped’ Color Toner Cartridges
OAKLAND,
N.J., March 06 — Media Sciences International, Inc. , leading
independent manufacturer of solid ink and color toner cartridges for
office color printers, today announced the launch of Media Sciences’
Clearcase® newly manufactured, high capacity cartridges for use in
Xerox® Phaser® 6250, Konica Minolta(TM) magicolor(TM) 3300, Epson
AcuLaser® C4100 and Brother® HL-4200CN office color printers. These new
products are the first independently manufactured, new-build, office
color toner cartridges featuring chip technology.
Technological Innovation by Office Color Aftermarket Leader
Chip
technology is used by printer manufacturers not only to enhance the
printer user’s product experience, but also to create a technological
barrier to aftermarket entry. That Media Sciences has surmounted this
industry barrier showcases the expertise of the Company’s product
development team, highlights its ability to deliver on complex
development projects, and illustrates the Company’s continued strength
in bringing products rich with opportunity to the marketplace.
Significant Market Opportunity
These
new products represent the fourth largest available installed base for
which Media Sciences manufactures products. When compared to the
printer manufacturers’ brands, the new line of cartridges deliver
end-user savings of up to 24 percent on single cartridges and up to 33
percent on the Media Sciences Value Bundle, which groups all four
colors together in a single SKU. Media Sciences’ Clearcase cartridges
feature a unique, clear cartridge that enables end users to visually
assess the quantity of toner remaining in a cartridge, helping them to
save money by preventing premature replacement.
Important Product in the Company’s Portfolio
Michael
W. Levin, Media Sciences’ President and Chairman, remarked on the
product introduction’s significance to the Company. “In addition to
delivering another important innovation to our industry, this new line
of products expands with strategic significance Media Sciences’ color
toner product line, and brings additional incremental revenue to the
company this fiscal year.”
New products that have shipped in the
Company’s third quarter have included the Media Sciences 9000 product
line, which includes universal color toner cartridges for use in Xerox
Phaser 7300, OKI® 9300 and 9500, and Konica® 7830 office color
printers, and the Media Sciences 3800 line of products for use in the
Ricoh® Aficio® AP3800C and CL7000.
Media Sciences anticipates the
new “chipped” products for use in the Xerox Phaser 6250, Konica Minolta
magicolor 3300, Epson AcuLaser C4100 and Brother HL-4200CN office color
printers to ship within the next 30 days.
