M2 Opens First Independent Oem Printer Parts Store in Central London

Service call completion accelerated by direct access to print device parts
London, UK – January 2012 – M2, the UK’s leading independent managed print IT services company, has launched the first independent print parts store in central London to support the 3,500 devices managed by M2 in the Capital. Challenged by the feasibility of access to customer sites by service engineers carrying a ready stock of parts by road, the independent parts store ensures that M2’s network of pedestrian technicians in London have parts for any repairs within 45 minutes.

“The Parts Store is central to our strategy as our London-based customer portfolio has more than doubled over the last two years,” said John Taylor, CEO, M2. “Our engineers in central London would previously have had to wait for supplies to be shipped from the device manufacturer which impacted printer downtime that could run into several hours or even a few days. Now, we are able to source printer supplies from our Parts Store so that our customers have optimum device uptime that meets the exacting standards of delivery that they have come to expect from M2.”

M2’s efficient processes enable engineers to service customers in similar geographical proximity, so that the Parts Store is able to pick, pack and despatch supplies within five minutes. Parts Store couriers ensure quick delivery of supplies within 45 minutes of order placement.

Launched earlier this month, the Parts Store has been well received by customers, vendor partners and engineers. In one case, a customer was astonished to have their problem resolved within one hour. Recruitment advertising agency, SMRS reported a faulty touch screen on its MPC5000, and might usually have expected to wait 24 hours for a replacement part. Instead, it was just one hour from initial fault diagnosis through to order placement then parts delivered and fitted.
