Long Beach man arrested on charges of shoplifting
A Long Beach man who was on parole for a previous burglary was arrested this afternoon on charges of shoplifting from a Palm Desert businesses, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.Sheriff’s deputies received a call at about 3:30 p.m. that a man took about 24 copier toners from the Office Depot store in the 72-000 block of Highway 111 without paying. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Kirk Robert Kiefreider, loaded the cartridges into a van that was later found at the intersection of Highway 111 and Washington Street, the department said.Kiefreider was booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio on charges of commercial burglary and parole violation.
