Meet the Owner: Charles Bonsignore of Inkredible Ink

Babylon Village Patch recently sat down with the owner of Inkredible Ink, the stationary and office supplies store.

For Charles Bonsignore, opening a store in Babylon was not about the potential for making money – it was all about providing a necessary service for both the people and the environment.

"I’ve always tried to be honest," said Bonsignore, a Brooklyn native and owner of Inkredible Ink on North Carll Avenue. "We drive on word of mouth and just want to save people money when we can."

Bonsignore opened the print specialist and stationary storefront in January 2007 on his own after spending many years as an independent broker on Wall Street. He said he looked into a business where he could help people.

"People buy these inexpensive printers from the big box stores and end up spending double what they bought it for in just ink alone," he said. "In good times, people can order excess and sometimes it’s not a problem. But in bad times, it’s even more important to save your money."

That’s where Inkredible Ink comes in. The company provides a wide array of printing services on site and also can fix just about any brand, model or type of printer under the Sun. On top of this, Bonsignore and staff have also made it a priority to help refill and recycle ink cartridges which would normally end up in a landfill.
"It’s really easy for us to protect consumers," he said. "And there’s an influx of bootleg cartridges and toners on the market that will destroy your printer." Inkredible Ink has its own ink mixer on site and tests every cartridges they resell before it heads out the door.

Topping off his service is the promise he makes to all customers:

"If we break it, we’ll make sure we fix it or replace it free of charge," he said, then added with a grin: "I have yet to actually have that happen though," noting none of his customers have ever had an issue.

When he’s not helping folks with their computers and printers, Bonsignore’s storefront sells everything from teacher’s supplies such as learning tools and helpful learning toys to school supplies. In fact, the store receives all of the local district’s lists during the summer and will fill bags up with the goods your child needs so you can skip the madhouse other stores turn into in Back-To-School sales.

"We try our best to make ourselves a convenience to the area," he said.

Bonsingore, a father of two, said he hopes to see the store continue to thrive in the village.

"[The location] was close to home and gets a lot of exposure," he said. "Opening here was always a no-brainer."
