Removing Covers on the HP 4200/4300 Series PrintersWhile facing the front of the printer open the toner access cover by grasping it under the control panel and lift up. Once the cover is fully open the toner cartridge can be removed by grasping it by the handle and pulling it up and out. At this point you can see the 2 screws that hold down the front of the top cover, one on the left, and one on the right side of the cover. Remove these two Philips head screws. A magnetic or magnetically charged screwdriver can be used to avoid dropping the screws into the printer. Full Story
HP Laserjet M-Series MFP’s, 49.4C02 Error After Firmware UpgradeThis error can affect monochrome and color M-series multifunction printers. In some instances after upgrading a LaserJet M-series MFP firmware upon rebooting the 49 error will occur. As soon as the printer is connected to the network the error appears. Disconnecting the printer from the network seems to prevent the error from occurring after the upgrade. Full Story

Recurring theme of drive gears issues across line of laser printersThere have been some printers that seem to be more prone to the fuser drive gears failing well before they seem like they should be having a problem. Most printers seem to go for hundreds of thousands of pages before there is a problem with this part of the printer. The bigger boxes even approaching a million sheets before having trouble.
