    		Lexmark To Target SMBs With Low-End Printer
     Printer company Lexmark is set to begin shipping a new, entry-level black-and-white laser printer, hoping it can add another weapon to its arsenal in the fight for the SMB space.

    Company executives have already said they expect to make the small and midsize Market a key battleground against rivals including Xerox and Oki Data–both of which have articulated strong SMB strategies of their own.

    Lexmark executives said they will begin shipping their new, E220 monochrome laser printer in mid- October at a street price of $199.

    The Lexmark E220 broadens the company’s presence in the rapidly expanding laser printer market for price- conscious customers. With its low price, space-saving design, excellent print speed and quality, it’s a perfect printer for homework, the home office, as well as small- and medium-size businesses.

    Personal laser printing takes on new meaning with the Lexmark E220.

  • Fast Printing: At up to 18 pages per minute, the Lexmark E220 has the fastest rated print speed of any laser printer under $200*. The Lexmark E220 is nearly twice as fast as the leading brand’s competitive product (18 pages per minute (ppm) versus 10 ppm), and it delivers a faster time to first print — 9.5 seconds.
