CAP Ventures Explores Universal Copiers & Printers

New Multi-Client Study on UCPs Available

With the migration to digital copiers and printers almost complete, the next big thing in the office will be the migration to “universal” copiers and printers (UCPs), which are capable of competitively printing or copying in color as well as black & white. CAP Ventures will investigate the impact of the universal copier/printer in a landmark multi-client study entitled Universal Office Copiers & Printers: Worldwide Market Opportunities and Product Requirements.

CAP Ventures believes that UCPs represent the best opportunity for sustained growth of office equipment placements and service and supplies revenue streams. “There are millions of workgroup printers and copiers installed worldwide producing billions of pages per year,” commented Jeff Hayes, a Director at CAP Ventures. “Moving a portion of this installed based to universal devices and a portion of the page volume to color will be worth billions of dollars to equipment manufacturers, supplies vendors, and the distribution channel.”

“More importantly, those vendors that best understand the nature of this window of opportunity realize that it represents a unique period to gain share in an increasingly competitive market. This study provides companies with the in-depth research and analysis to guide their product development, pricing, marketing, and distribution strategies
