    Xerox Executive James Miller Dies
James Miller, president of the Xerox Office Group, died suddenly on Aug. 2 in Rochester, N.Y., the company said. Miller, 51, had worked for Xerox since 1974 and spent much of his career working for the company in Rochester. After Xerox bought the office printer business once owned by Tektronix, Miller was tapped to run the organization and moved to its location in Wilsonville, Ore.

He was named president of the Office Group in January, and had been a corporate vice president since 2000.

In his post, Miller oversaw Xerox’s office printer and copier business–including its marketing, product development and channel business–and reported to Xerox Senior Vice President Ursula Burns. ,p>”For 29 years, Jim served Xerox with great loyalty, energy and vision. He cared deeply about our company and will be remembered by Xerox people worldwide for his contributions and commitment,” said Anne Mulcahy, Xerox chairman and CEO, in a statement. “Our hearts go out to Jim’s family on this sad day.”

Several executives at Xerox also credited Miller with helping to integrate the Tektronix business not just into the larger company but also its culture. Miller’s organization was one of the fastest-growing at Xerox. Before joining Xerox, Miller graduated from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and earned an MBA from Wharton Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania.
