Nova Scotia offers payroll rebate to Xerox
HALIFAX – The government of Nova Scotia is offering Xerox Canada a $4.4 million payroll rebate in the hopes of creating jobs in Halifax.
The five-year rebate from Nova Scotia Business Inc., the government’s business development agency, is based on performance.
The government says for every dollar it spends in salary in the province, Xerox Canada will get five to 10 cents back.
The rebate is available to the company as it looks to hire people with post-secondary education or sales experience.
Xerox Canada opened a sales centre in the Halifax community of Dartmouth in 2001.
It employs about 220 people at the centre.
