Office Depot Call Center in Bristol, VA Cutting 80 Jobs

BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – Office Depot will cut 80 jobs at its Bristol, Virginia call center.

News Channel 11 learned about the layoff Thursday through a viewer post on the station's Facebook.

A company spokesman said the reduction was part of Office Depot Inc.'s company-wide customer service consolidation effort.

"We understand that these decisions impact our associates and the community, and the company is committed to treating our people with respect throughout this process," said Karen Denning, Vice President of Corporate Communications.   "Affected associates will receive a minimum of 60 days notice and be eligible for severance and outplacement services."
