Office Depot hires ecologist
June 2005 – Delray Beach (FL): Office Depot and the Nature Conservancy have appointed Evie Witten to the newly created role of boreal ecologist within the Forest & Biodiversity Conservation Alliance.
Tyler Elm, director of environmental affairs for Office Depot said: “This position was created in part to help our suppliers identify and conserve areas of exceptional biodiversity value within the Canadian boreal forest, which will assist them in meeting the requirements of Office Depot’s environmental paper procurement policy.”
Witten has previously served as director of the World Wildlife Fund Alaska, contract manager for the Nature Conservancy, executive director of the Great Land Trust in Alaska and has also worked with the US Forest Service.
