Depot withdraws protest
September
2007 — Delray Beach (FL): Office Depot has withdrawn its protest of
federal blanket purchase agreements (BPAs), which award large OP
contracts to small businesses.Depot, which failed to secure a BPA last
month, was protesting to the Government Accountability Office on the
grounds it believed that seven of the 11 small businesses awarded the
contracts did not qualify as small business because office products are
not made by the so-called small firms. However, it is now understood
that Depot has withdrawn its protest, and the BPA programme, which had
been put on hold because of the protest, has resumed as of today.Depot
has declined to comment at this time.
