Oki Data Debuts New Colour Series Printer
Mississauga, ON, June 2006: Oki Data Americas, Inc., which markets its products under the Oki Printing Solutions brand, has introduced its C6100 Series of digital colour printers, featuring high-definition (1,200 x 600 dpi) colour technology enabled by new microfine toner and multilevel LED heads.
“We created a crossover product with outstanding speed and professional quality that bridges the common desktop and heavy workgroup printers,” explained Gus Piccin, General Manager of Oki Data Americas Canadian operations. “The C6100 Series is ideal for businesses of all sizes that are now faced by more demanding colour workloads, and for those seeking a balance of performance and price for everyday colour applications.”
The C6100 offers print speeds of up to 26 ppm in colour and 32 ppm in black-and-white.  It prints banners up to 8.5’’ x 47.25’’; and provides postscript 3 emulation and PCL6, ensuring Mac compatibility.  For security, the printer allows for print job data encryption, which ensures that confidential documents are only viewed by authorized users by encrypting data  transferred over the network and enforcing the input of a 4-10 digit PIN code at the printer prior to document printing (standard on C6100hdn only; optional on C6100n/dn/dtn).  Another security feature is a Job Accounting utility to restrict colour printing to specific users, and track costs on a per job basis.  A downloadable WebPrint utility automatically scales Internet pages to fit the width of standard paper. The C6100 offers an approx. cost-per-page of 9.6 cents in colour or 1.5 cents in black-and-white.
The C6100 Series’ starts at an ESP of $999.
