Premium Paper Buyers Prefer “Big Three” Office
Superstores
LYRA RESEARCH
Lyra recently
conducted a survey of paper buyers from small-office/home-office (SOHO)
businesses (from one to four employees) and small businesses (from five to 99
employees). The results show that three-quarters of respondents who purchase
only premium paper or both premium and standard copy papers prefer to purchase
their paper at one of the “big three” office superstores. Staples is the most
popular channel, followed by Office Depot and Office Max. The next most popular
channel is the mass-market retail/warehouse club channel, with 11 percent of
respondents reporting that they purchase paper at Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, or
Costco.
