Printer users in the dark about color
Many printer users do not know the differences between inkjet and laser printers, the latest research has revealed.A survey into printing carried out in London by Konica Minolta revealed that only 20 per cent of respondents knew whether a laser or inkjet printer was most expensive.Further to this 89 per cent of respondents were unaware that ten full-colour A4 photo images could be printed off in one minute on a laser printer. According to the research, almost half thought that the time taken for this was between three and seven minutes. The research also revealed that most people shy away from using colour in the workplace, with only nine per cent using it for invoices and 11 per cent choosing to liven up their brochures with a splash of colour.”It’s astonishing that so many still people don’t realise just how much money they could save by using a cost effective colour laser instead of an inkjet,” said Oscar Rook, UK marketing director, Konica Minolta printing solutions.”It’s also surprising that businesses aren’t aware of the real financial benefits that could be achieved through printing things like brochures and invoices in colour. This is a real wake-up call to the industry. We all have to do a better job of letting printer users know that colour matters.”
