Ricoh Americas Corp Announced The Merger of Two Divisions

Ricoh Merges Business Units for Security and Machine Vision Products
Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced the merger of two divisions and their product portfolios to improve the experience of customers who buy its business-to-business cameras and lenses.

The new portfolio, unified under the Ricoh Americas Corporation Industrial Optical Systems, now contains a comprehensive range of cameras and lenses for homeland security, general security, machine vision (the technology and methods used to provide imaging-based automatic inspection and analysis for such applications as automatic inspection, process control and robot guidance in industry), law enforcement, manufacturing, healthcare and geographic information systems.

Customers will now interact with one Ricoh Americas Corporation business unit instead of two when they purchase security or machine vision products formerly managed under the Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation industry business unit, and ruggedized "solution cameras" already managed by Ricoh Americas Corporation.

"Businesses and government organizations that invest in our products deserve a completely satisfying sales, service and support experience," said Matt Sakauchi , Vice President, Visual Communications Group, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "This integration ensures they have that experience while enabling us to more efficiently focus our R&D effort on the innovations that are most important to our customers."

Effective April 1, this move combines the Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation, Security Systems Division and Ricoh Americas Corporation, Digital Camera Division. Ricoh and Pentax products will remain under their current brands and all consumer products will continue under the management of Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation.
